Public AnnouncementThe Town of Virden is pleased to announce that testing and commissioning of the new water treatment equipment have been successful and the new plant is expected to be online in the coming weeks. Please be advised that as the new water mixes with existing water in the distribution system, you may notice a change in color due to sedimentation. The Town has taken steps in preparation of the plant coming online and will also conduct a flushing program to help minimize this issue. It is important to note that the change in color and presence of sedimentation, should they occur, do not pose a health concern. The Town will be monitoring the situation closely however, should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Town Office at 748-2440.

Compost Transfer Station The Town of Virden would like to ask the co-operation of the general public in the sue of the compost transfer station located on Anniversary Road. While the majority of users treat the facility with respect, there are still individuals who continue to abuse the facility by throwing plastic bags, tree branches, garbage and other foreign material in the compost or around the bin. THIS ABUSE DESTROYS THE VALUE OF THE COMPOST!!! Thank you for your co-operation!
