As Mayor, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Virden. Ours is a thriving community where a unique blend of town and country has produced the ideal place to live, work and play.  Located midway between Winnipeg and Regina, at the intersection of two major highways and the CPR mainline, Virden offers opportunity, combined with old-fashioned warmth and hospitality.

Virden is a safe and secure community where families can live life to the fullest, surrounded by local history and rural landscapes. From our rich heritage homes and new residential developments to our seniors’ independent and assisted living facilities, Virden offers something for all ages and lifestyles.

As a regional centre for the agriculture and oil industry, Virden has a strong and diversified industrial base providing abundant employment and new business growth opportunities.

With a modern integrated hospital, lab and medical clinic and 4 schools providing K-12, we have excellent health care and educational services and facilities.
