Healthcare
Virden Health Center
The Virden Health Center provides a wide variety of services to the immediate community and to the much broader region . The Center has 25 acute care beds and is served by 5 family physicians. Services within the center include diagnostic services, emergency services, public and mental health services. Other services includes a palliative care program, occupational and physiotherapy services, dietician services, in house pharmacy services and a seniors adult day program.
Personal Care Homes
Virden and area are served by 2 personal care homes, each having 50 long term beds. The West-man Nursing Home and the Sherwood Home also offer respite care.
Education
Virden is home to 2 elementary schools, one junior high and one high school. The schools serve the local community and provide high school services to an extended area.
Virden Collegiate Institute
Virden Collegiate Institute offers Senior One to Four classes with a diverse variety of programming including trades and technology. In addition to the normal high school diploma diplomas are also issued for Business Education and Power mechanics

Housing
The Community of Virden has several new subdivisions including the recently constructed Kenderdine Subdivision located at the southwest corner of the community.
Average house sales range from $ 50,000 up to $ 150,000 for newer homes. Rental rates range from $ 400 to $ 800 on average.

Safety
Police
Police services to the Town of Virden are supplied under contract by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police through the local detachment.
Fire
Fire and Emergency Services Support is provided by the Virden- Wallace Volunteer Fire Department
Emergency Services
24 hour 7 day ambulance service is provided through the Virden Health Center. In addition, air ambulance service is available through the local airport.
