Minimum Billing Rates

The 3 Month minimum billing for water & sewer is $34.60 for 3,000 gallons.

Rates Above Minimum Useage
          3,000 to 100,000 gallons:
                   $4.35 per 1,000 gallons of water
                   $3.55 per 1,000 gallons of wastewater

                    >100,000 gallons
                             $2.60 per 1,000 gallons of water
                             $3.55 per 1,000 gallons of wastewater

Bulk Water Charges

Bulk Water is available at the water treatment plant through an automatic dispensing system utilizing tokens issued by the Town of Virden.Tokens may be purchased from the Town of Virden Office during regular business hours and cost $5.00 for a 500 gallon token

Taxation

Mill rates:

                     Residential 2006 53.74 mills
                     Commercial 2006 65.68 mills

Due date:                 October 29, 2010
Payment methods:    Cash, cheque or Internet banking
Tax Statements:       Please call the Town Office if you haven't received your statement by the end of June.

Complaints
Formal complaints about Town Services can be filed by completing a written complaint form (which is available for download from the forms area of the website), in person through the Town Office or by telephone.

Completed complaint forms can be submitted through the Town Office during regular business hours. Complaints can also be submitted by telephone at (204) 748-2440 during the same business hours.

Regular Business Hours are 8:30 am - 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Monday to Friday.

The formal complaint process begins with the submission of a formal written or telephone complaint to the Town Office. If a complaint is submitted by telephone a complaint form is filled out by Town staff on the behalf of the complainant.

These forms are then forwarded to the appropriate department for clarification or action. Information about departmental responses to any complaints is then forwarded back to the original applicant.

The Town of Virden strives to respond with any and all complaints in an efficient timely manner as human resources permits.
