NOTICE OF ELECTION
Town of Virden
Notice is hereby given that a vote of Town of Virden will be taken to elect Councillor from the following duly 
nominated candidates:
 
For the offices of Councillor:
1.      Al McAulay
2.      Amanda Hayward-Draper
3.      Tina Williams
4.      Frank Van Den Hoek
5.      Zac Penner
 
VOTING PLACES
Voting places will be open for voting on Wednesday the 21st day of November, 2012 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. 
at:  232 Wellington Street West, Virden, Manitoba.
 
IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE.  A person may be required to
produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example – driver’s license or passport) or at least two
other documents that provide proof of identity.
 
ADVANCE VOTING
For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be 
absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on election day, an advance voting opportunity will be 
located at the Town of Virden Council Chambers, 232 Wellington Street West, Virden, Manitoba during Thursday, 
November 15, 2012 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
 
MOBILE VOTING
For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but reside at a health care facility, a mobile voting 
station will be set up at the following health care facilities on election day:  
 
1.      Virden Hospital/Westman Nursing Home        10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
2.      Sherwood                                                        1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
 
APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE
A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing, or by fax 
to the senior election official at Box 310, 232 Wellington Street West, Virden, Manitoba, (204) 748-2501.
 
If applying in person*, a voter may apply between October 24, 2012 and November 18, 2012. 
 
* A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.
 
If applying by mail or fax**, a voter may apply between October 24, 2012 and November 18, 2012.
 
** A voter applying by mail or fax will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.
