The Virden Community Recreation Center consists of six baseball diamonds, four livestock barns, an ice surface and a swimming pool. Off site features include a soccer pitch and two tennis courts.

A brand new Recreational Facility is the host of many upcoming community events - see

There is a minor hockey club, a figure skating club, three synchronized skating teams, a liniment league, a high school hockey team and a senior hockey team.

The swimming pool is nine years old and is a zero entry, vinyl lined pool with a bather load of 342 people. It has a kiddy area, shallow end, middle and deep end which is 12 feet deep. The deep end has two diving boards. The pool has a kiddy slide, a regular slide and a large double loop waterslide. The pool is heated by a large gas heater ( usual temperature is 82 degrees fahrenheit). The pool season normally runs from June 1 to September long weekend with swimming lessons being offered through the entire season.

The center is also host to some community events. The high school safe grad, Virden trade show, Virden Ag fair, and the Virden Indoor Rodeo are yearly events held at the center.
