Arts Mosaic Gallery & Market

The Virden Community Arts Council was formed in 1981 and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1982. We received our charitable status in 1989.

In 2000, the CPR Historic Centre opened its doors to VCAC and other non-profit organizations. VCAC was an instrumental part of this fundraising campaign to 'Save the CP Station'.

In 2015, VCAC changed its operating name to Arts Mosaic.

The mandate of Arts Mosaic is to be a catalyst for the promotion, education & awareness of creative endeavors in our community. This is done through the management of an art gallery, providing arts education and cultural events, running the Mosaic Market (a gift shop with items from local artists available for purchase), supporting the Costume Closet, and offering scholarships and bursaries to local schools and community fairs.

Anyone can be a member. Show your support for those who fought and for those who continue to fight in Canada’s military.

Membership is open to Canadian citizens, Commonwealth subjects or non-Canadian citizens/non-Commonwealth subjects from an Allied Country who are over 18. When you join The Legion, you show your pride as a Veteran, the family member of a Veteran, or as a person who supports Veterans and Canadian communities. We encourage you to join your local branch and take an active role in The Legion right in your own back yard. It’s as a member of your local branch that you will make the biggest difference in the lives of all Veterans and the community where you live. Legion membership gives you the chance to join the more than 320,000 people who have committed to support serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP personnel, Veterans and their families, to uphold the traditions of Remembrance and to support communities across our great nation. Join The Legion today because you care and because you can!

There is strength and power in numbers.

The Virden Lions Club is a group of service-minded women and men interested in strengthening their community and the surrounding area, hence our motto, "WE SERVE".

To be a Lion is to be an active community volunteer and friend to people in need. We are part of the 1.4 plus million clubs spread across more than 200 countries and geographical areas. In these varied areas, Lions share a common belief, "Community is what we make it".

Our Club was chartered in 1956 with 29 original members. In over 60 years of service in the community, we have donated more than one million dollars to various needy projects and individuals. Our fund-raising endeavours currently consist of the following: Lions Park/Campground used battery collection and highway ditch clean-up to protect the environment; as well as other initiatives that may be required by the community.
