The Virden Fish Pond might just be one of the best‑kept secrets in the town.

Maintained by volunteers, the Fish Pond is stocked and has been since 1990. This year there were 400 Rainbow Trout fingerlings, 200 four-inch fingerlings, and 200 eight-inch fingerlings stocked in the pond. You don’t have to have a license to fish here and you can catch as many as you want. An aerator ensures there is no winter kill, and the pond can be enjoyed year-round.
