Notice is hereby given that a vote of the Town of Virden will be taken to elect Mayor and Councillors from the following duly nominated candidates:
For the offices of Councillor:
HUNT, Alfred
HALOWATY, Gord
PENNER, Travis
SAVY, Marc
MAKARCHUK, Tom
MAXWELL, Tara
GRUMPELT, Lynette
GIRARDIN, Lomer
For the office of Mayor:
DUNNING, Bruce
WILLIAMS, Tina
(Note: listed in order as per random draw for order on ballots)
VOTING PLACES
Voting places will be open for voting on Wednesday the 28th day of October, 2026
between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
at
Sunrise Banquet Hall, Tundra Oil and Gas Place, 900 5th Avenue South, Virden, Manitoba
IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE
A person may be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example - driver's license or passport) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.
ADVANCE VOTING
For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but reside at a health care facility, a mobile voting station will be set up at the following health care facilities on election day:
1. Virden Hospital/Westman Nursing Home 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
2. Sherwood PCH 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE
A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing, or by email to the senior election official at Box 310, 236 Wellington Street West, Virden, Manitoba, R0M 2C0.

If applying in person*, a voter may apply between September 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026, during regular business hours.
* A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.
If applying by mail or email**, a voter may apply between September 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026
** A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.
